Peace Begins in the Heart

The following testimony comes from Ammar, a seeker on the Dream Project website.

Another night under the shadow of conflict. The streets of my country had become rivers of sorrow, faces worn with grief, eyes searching for a hope they could not find. Even the air felt heavy, carrying whispers of fear and uncertainty.

Then came the dream. I found myself standing among my people, surrounded by the weight of our pain. Suddenly, a brilliant light broke through the darkness—not the harsh glare of war, but a warm, pure light that drew every gaze upward. There stood Jesus, clothed in white so pure it seemed to carry the promise of a new dawn.

He walked among the sick, touching them with a compassion deeper than words. The fevered found rest. The lame stood tall. The hopeless lifted their heads. Those burdened with grief found their tears replaced with joy. His presence did not just heal bodies; it healed hearts.

When He reached me, I could no longer hold back the question burning inside: “Will we ever find peace?” He looked at me. His eyes seemed to know both my wounds and my dreams. As He spoke, His voice was gentle and yet carried the authority of the heavens: “Peace begins in the heart, so spread it, and it will grow.”

As suddenly as He came, He was gone. But the light remained. The sky above cleared, and the people around me embraced each other. The tension in the air lifted. It felt as if the world itself took a deep breath. I awoke with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart, as though He had placed a spark of His light within me.

I could not shake the feeling that my dream was speaking to the times in which we are now living. Our streets are still filled with unrest. Nations are divided. Hearts are hardened. Families are fractured. Wars, disease and distrust flood the headlines.

And yet, this dream reminded me that the most significant battles are fought not only on the ground, but in the human heart. Fear, anger, hatred, they take root inside before they ever shape the world outside. True peace cannot be signed into existence by treaties alone. It must first be planted like a seed in the soul.

Not knowing how to fully understand this dream, I reached out to the Dream Project website. The team listened carefully to every detail and explained that throughout history, God has often spoken to people in dreams, especially in times of crisis. They showed me how the Quran honors Isa Al-Masih as a Healer, Miracle-worker, and Sign from God (Surah 3:45-49), and how the Bible reveals Him as the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), the One who came to reconcile us to one another and to God Himself.

The team helped me see that the peace Jesus spoke of in my dream was more than just the end of war; it was the peace of God that begins when we are forgiven, loved and restored by Him. They explained His promise: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you” (John 14:27).

They reminded me that Jesus’ call, “Spread it, and it will grow,” is a personal mission. When we carry His peace, it multiplies. It transforms communities. It changes the world, one heart at a time.

Finding faith in the Giver of peace through their guidance, I began to see Jesus not only as a Prophet of old, but as the living Savior who still walks into the darkest recesses of our lives. I came to believe that He truly is the Light of the World (John 8:12), which no darkness can overcome.

Now I awake each day with a renewed purpose: to let His peace begin in my heart and to share it with others. Though the world still trembles, I know the light I carry is not mine; it is His, and it is enough.

Amidst the chaos of our times, the same Isa who appeared to me in my dream is calling to you: “Peace begins in the heart. Spread it, and it will grow.” He is calling each of us to be peacemakers—people who carry His peace into a world desperate for hope.
