A new year. A new you.
“For only three small payments of $49.95 . . .”
TV ads. They offer you a bevy of products that promise to improve your life: knives that will cut through anything; juicers that guarantee to extract every last drop of nutrition; and vitamins, supplements and beauty aids that, if you act now, will create a whole new you.
God, too, has a special offer — the longest advertised deal in the history of humankind (Genesis 3:15) — the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the opportunity to be born again (John 3:3-8). You, version 2.0.
But unlike those TV ads that say, “Offer good while supplies last,” God has an endless supply of love — enough for every human who has ever lived (John 3:16-17).
“But that’s not all. You’ll also receive . . .”
Forgiveness. Peace. Mercy. His righteousness. Life without sin. No more death. Hope.
Best of all, the price has already been paid . . . on the cross of Calvary. It cost God everything, yet it costs you nothing more than giving up a life broken by sin (SC 46.1).
“Act now” while it is today (Hebrews 3:7-8, 12, Joshua 24:15). Jesus is “standing by” (Hebrews 7:25).
