“*Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.” —C. S. Lewis
Abel’s arms flail as he falls through the air, the sharpened bamboo rising up to meet him (p. 44). Christopher’s heart skips a beat as he spots a shiny silver lug nut bouncing down the road behind the truck carrying his family (p. 38).
Like most of our magazines, this month’s Adventist Frontiers is full of miracle stories—moments when God chose to intervene in lives and circumstances in ways that unmistakably revealed His care, love and sovereignty. Sometimes we see His hand flash out in response to extreme danger—a little girl lost in the mountain jungle (p. 28) or a life-threatening birth complication (p. 16). Other times His touch is a caress, soothing us with an unexpected song (p. 15) or transforming rotten potatoes (p. 26).
In every miraculous instance, in ways great and small, God’s message to us is the same as the one He has written across galaxies, sunsets, mountain ranges and every molecule of air we breathe: I made you. I love you. I have a plan for you. I will provide for you.
