Have you ever looked up at the sky and noticed the contrails from the planes flying over? When I lived in Littleton, Colorado, I often noticed contrails crisscrossed the sky, spreading in all directions. Sometimes I would count how many I could see, discovering more than 20 in just a few moments. Then I would wonder where all the people in those planes were heading. So many people going to so many places.
After September 11, 2001, as I looked up at the sky day after day and did not see the contrails, it gave me a strange feeling. The sky seemed so empty.
Recently, while driving home just before sunset, I again noticed the contrails in the sky. They seemed to represent the people of our world — so far away and sometimes hardly visible.
Jesus is coming soon. One day we will look upon an empty world. No longer will we have the opportunity to show the people that God loves and cares for them — that Jesus gave His life for them.
Now is the only time we have. Tomorrow may be too late. There is a great need for missionaries willing to take the gospel to all people and for those who will sacrificially support them. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help spread God’s word to the millions of people waiting to hear of Him.
