Throughout history, God has again and again turned challenges into opportunities, questions into answers, opposition into submission, and rebellion into cooperation. His commitment to saving us knows no limit.
During these last several months, humanity has witnessed once again what a virus can do. Pain, suffering, death, division, leaders without clear answers—these are just some of the consequences we see as COVID-19 spreads around the world.
In this challenging time, the hearts of many people are turning to God. I am sure you have many friends who are asking questions that were of no interest to them in the past, and perhaps some even show new openness to revisiting the Bible in an effort to find answers to key questions in their lives. Who are we? What is the essential nature of humanity? Where are we? What is the nature of the world around us? What has gone wrong? Why is the world in such a mess? What is the solution? What can we do about it?
In the Old Testament we find answers to these fundamental worldview questions that people of all religions around the world try to answer in one way or another. There is a personal God who created the world we inhabit, and we are part of that creation. God made us in His image. But we rebelled against Him and brought destruction that extends to every level of our lives. However, God also had a plan of redemption—a solution. And we are part of that solution.
May you embrace this reality and dedicate your life to witnessing of His love right where you are and wherever He may be calling you. Please check out our missionary calls and consider being part of the solution for the world’s unreached people.
