Reaching the Unreached Near and Far

God is opening doors for ministry all over the world in preparation for His return, including doors to Muslims. Some of the Muslims are our neighbors. Just a block or two away from our church is the main Muslim community center of Chattanooga. Last Saturday evening, the Muslims invited our church to their community center for a meal to get acquainted. Between 70 and 90 Seventh-day Adventists met with a roughly equal number of Muslims. It was a very nice time! I met a family man about my age who works at the same hospital I do.

Early in the evening, a man asked me what made Seventh-day Adventists different from other Christians. Wow! What an opportunity to share! I had time only to mention briefly about the Second Coming before the call to dinner interrupted us. But later I saw him eating with our head deacon and family, so I am thankful he had another chance to learn about God and His truth.

God gave Sonya an amazing opening to share about Him as well. As Adventists, we share God-given dietary restrictions with the Jews as well as the Muslims. Sonya had a nice time talking about this common ground with a middle-aged Muslim mother. Then she was able to tell them about the Sabbath. The lady’s husband is from Saudi Arabia and had been in America for only about 15 months. He had never heard of the Sabbath. We were amazed and thankful for this opportunity to share with this unreached man.

We are also thankful that God is calling us to serve the native Palawano in the mountainous jungles of southern Palawan. As of yet, they are not our next-door neighbors. None of them have immigrated to America. “Go ye therefore and teach all nations,” Jesus said (Matt. 28:18). The only way for them to hear is for us to go as Jesus commands. Thank you for your prayers and monthly support so the Palawano can hear the greatest news ever told!
