A few months ago, we wrote about the health training the church here in Chiang Mai was doing, equipping church members to do health ministry (blood pressures, therapeutic massage and hydrotherapy). The church is hoping to use this knowledge to reach out to the Chiang Mai community.
Just a few weeks ago, we had a chance to go along with other church members to a Hmong village to conduct a small health outreach. We set up three different areas for each treatment.
The turnout was great. It took several hours for all the people to go through the stations. The church members prayed with people as they performed the different treatments, asking God to bless them with health. Their witness was amazing.
Unfortunately, I don’t speak even a word of Hmong. Some of the villagers spoke some Thai, but many of the older generation did not. Despite the language barrier, it was so fun to be a part of this outreach to people in need of Jesus’ love.
Please pray that our witness here will be as touching to the lives of those around us as the witness I saw in the Chiang Mai church. We pray that the rest of our time here in Chiang Mai will be filled with opportunities to speak and share about Jesus’ love with those we meet.
