“How shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” “. . .when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, . . . a door was opened to me by the Lord” (Rom. 10:14; 2 Cor. 2:12).
The door to Surat Thani is currently closed. Some logistical hurdles remain, and COVID-19 travel restrictions are in place so that even if there weren’t the logistical hurdles, it is currently impossible to get to our project. We are not the only missionaries facing closed and closing doors. Friends from various mission organizations are struggling to get to their mission project locations. But that can change!
We serve the God who said to Abraham, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” and who said in the Psalms, “Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession” (Gen. 18:14; Ps. 2:8.). The answer to closed doors is prayer! Not a “now I lay me down to sleep” rote prayer, but earnest, soul-anguishing prayer for the lost. If the earnestness with which you prayed determined the life or death of the person most dear to you, how earnestly would you pray?
Please join us in praying like that for the city of Surat Thani, Thailand. Pray that a door for the gospel will open and that the obstacles will be cleared for us to serve there.
