It had been a while since I had been in Boan Village. As I was working my way down the hill into the village, I ran into Pumrok. She grabbed my arm and practically dragged me into her house, telling me she needed to talk with me. We sat on the floor and engaged in the usual pleasantries. Then, in a hushed voice, she told me she had seen her late husband in a dream, and her youngest boy had seen him in a couple dreams, too. Her husband died more than two years ago. Pumrok explained that the spirit of her dead husband had told her that he wanted her to come and be with him. She wanted nothing to do with this evil spirit, so she asked me to invite Chief God to protect her and her family. I was glad to pray with her and ask God to be with her and to shield her from the evil spirits. I also reminded her that she can pray to Chief God anytime and invite His presence—she didn’t need me to do it for her.

Please pray for Pumrok that she will have the courage to choose Chief God instead of the evil spirits.
