My name is Sia. I am a 34-year-old married mother of four children. I previously attended a church that preached that baptism was not a prerequisite for Christian faith. Despite my status as a visitor, I lost hope for positive personal transformation. Disillusioned by the diverse teachings on Christian life, I ultimately chose to remain at home. My life and that of my family were characterized by misery and hopelessness. Since my husband’s accident, we have been residing with our in-laws due to our inability to secure food. We were subjected to stringent conditions and lacked personal freedom. I lacked a Bible, a knowledge of the depth of prayer and the concept of forgiveness. I also had daily conflicts with my husband, harboring resentment towards him because of past conflicts.
One day, Pastor Leno’s wife, Marguerite, sought assistance from a woman in our neighborhood who also shared my name. Upon hearing that, I went to meet with Marguerite. Although I was not the woman she was searching for, she could not find the other Sia, and so I offered my help. From that day forward, we established a relationship, visiting each other at our homes.
One Sabbath, she invited me to their small group. I declined, doing so again upon her second invitation. However, when she invited me a third time, I accepted out of respect for her persistence. For the first time, I opened the Bible and read. The following Sabbath, I received another invitation, and that day, I requested a Bible. Since then, I have read God’s Word and attended evening prayers with my family at their home.
Gradually, I uncovered remarkable insights within God’s Word. Inspired by Pastor Leno’s teachings, I regained courage and hope in the potential for a life transformation. I was able to forgive my husband and ceased engaging in conflicts with him and others. Through divine intervention, I attained peace and freedom. My husband and I are now able to provide for our family, and I currently serve as a Kono language instructor to the missionary family. I am also enrolled in the Sabbath school baptismal class, as I aspire to fully dedicate my life to Christ.
Dear donors, we extend our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support. We humbly request your prayers for individuals like Sia, as the Lord is performing extraordinary works in Kono. Together, we shall witness the salvation of souls.
