Sabbath morning. I was headed to one of our churches to preach. Arriving an hour and a half later, I entered to pray when I recognized a member who had been baptized several years ago but had since walked away. She had experienced many issues with demon possession and looked crazed.
While I was praying at the beginning of the service, the demons presented themselves. I did not want to deal with them while everyone was there, so I ignored them. When the service was over and everyone had gone, the work started. We had delivered her two years ago, but the demons returned after she walked away from God. Therefore, I knew what I was dealing with and how to proceed.
Some of the demons left after I ordered them to go in the name of Jesus. Another was trying to pretend he was not there. However, I told him to leave in the name of Jesus. After we finished the prayer and deliverance session, we headed out. She headed to her house, and I headed to my car.
When I got to my car, I opened the door and put my key and a sack inside. While I poured water onto my hands from my water bottle to rinse off the anointing oil I had used on the woman, the car door closed and locked—with the key inside. Now what was God trying to tell me? I wondered.
I tried calling Suzy, who was at a different church, to ask her what to do. However, her phone’s ringer was turned off, so she did not answer. I then called a mechanic friend who told me how to open the door. One of the brothers from the church went to get a screwdriver.
While he was gone, the demon who had been trying to hide could not stay still anymore. I caught up with the lady again. She looked exhausted from the spiritual combat. I now understood that one demon remained, hiding inside of her.
I immediately told her to go to her knees. The demon started to make her twist and turn. He wanted her to run away. But I commanded her to kneel, confessed that Jesus is Lord and ordered the demon to leave. He could not refuse.
After that, the lady prayed a confession of faith, confessed her sins to God and resolved not to return to the way of Satan. She was then completely free from the demons and gave her life over to God.
I praise God for all He did in delivering the sister. He had blocked my access to my car so that I could finish the work. Now that I was able to get the door open, I headed for home.
