With a heart full of joy and with thanks for the spiritual and financial faithfulness of many supporters, we began career missionary training on September 2, 2024. Together, we have embarked upon this journey and anticipate reaching the Animists of Central Africa with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Throughout training, we encountered many unexpected challenges. Three days after training began, we received an emergency call from our eldest son’s school, informing us that he had sprained his arm during a football match. Running between training and the hospital was upsetting enough, but we also noticed that our youngest daughter no longer had an appetite. Whenever we got her to eat, she vomited everything. So we headed off to the emergency room.
We give thanks to God because, after four weeks of treatment and prayers, the Lord worked a miracle in the health of these two children, defeating the devil’s plans.
As a missionary in an environment where the devil has long reigned supreme, we constantly need prayers for our children, who are a weak link in this spiritual warfare. So it has always been. Six months after becoming the pastor of the local church in Guinea in 2015, the devil and his agents attacked our second boy, born in April 2016. He aimed to prevent us from concentrating on the mission the Lord had assigned to us.
Yet we have the full assurance that our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the absolute Master of this mission, will never abandon us. Today, we are more determined than ever to go to the mission field regardless of the threats of the enemy. My family is very excited to leave this month. We ask you to invite other brothers and sisters to join this project through their prayers and financial support.
