Bringing the Light

We are one step closer to launching our mission project for the Animists of Central Africa. Praise God for your generosity that has brought us safely here.

I left Conakry, Guinea, on Monday, February 17, for a flight that lasted 12 hours before landing in the country of my project in Central Africa. The following day, my supervisors and I went to meet the authorities of the local Adventist mission, where they welcomed us with great enthusiasm and expressed their gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ and AFM, a key partner in helping them reach the places not yet reached in the country.

The next morning, we embarked on a 12-hour road trip to the large village where we shall be living. Along the way, we discovered a breathtaking landscape covered with small shrubs, animals carrying luggage and men, and villagers going to the weekly markets, all under temperatures of up to 103° F. At 5:30 that evening, we arrived at our hotel.

Early the next morning, we visited the administrative authorities of the village. Afterward, the general secretary of the Adventist mission accompanied us as we followed a guide who showed us several houses from which to pick as a place for my family to live.

Located in the south of the country and serving as the base for satanic practices in the region, this village is in desperate need of the enlightenment of the gospel. The people live in utter darkness. The living conditions remain very difficult, at best. However, as missionaries, Christ has called us to persevere as we preach the gospel in this city.

We invite you to pray for us as we minister to the people of this village and pray for them that they turn from being worshipers of the god of darkness into worshipers of the God of Light, Jesus Christ.
