Are you rich? A few years ago I might have laughed at that question. “Who, me? Rich? Certainly not!” But if you were to ask me now I would reply, “Yes, I’m quite wealthy.”

So what has happened? Did my family come into a lot of money recently? Well…no, our family of four is presently living in a 24’ X 8’ camper.

What changed was our perspective. We are seeking to understand the Albanians by looking at some things from their point of view. Our dwelling has heat and electricity, while the typical Albanian shivers through winters without heat and usually without electricity
We enjoy many conveniences such as power tools, kitchen appliances, and a flush toilet. From the perspective of a typically unemployed Albanian man who doesn’t expect to ever know these luxuries, we Americans are indeed wealthy.

Yet, true wealth is invisible to this man’s eyes. It doesn’t consist of material things. Buried in a neglected field (the Bible), we’ve uncovered immensely valuable treasure (the gospel)! We are giving up everything to acquire this wealth, for one must possess something in order to give it to others. This true wealth is impossible to selfishly hoard.

Please pray that God will open the eyes of the Albanians to perceive true treasure and that they will see it in our lives, and desire it for themselves and for their people. Pray that more people (maybe you) will join our monthly support team to reach Albanians for Jesus.
Now, allow me to ask the question again: Are you rich?
