Amazing Things

Often when we hear mission testimonies, we might tend to think that the reality presented there is far different from ours. We all have listened to those amazing stories filled with danger when God shows His power in a crucial moment. Coming to the mission field, that was what I was expecting to witness. But fortunately, that hasn’t happened. Yes, I do mean fortunately! God had a different, more important lesson for me: I don’t need to see amazing things; I just need Him.

People are often moved by dramatic faith-building events more than by a true relationship with God. We appreciate the extraordinary more than the ordinary. We are so in love with the idea of God being extraordinary that it’s easy to think that life with Him means daily miracles. But throughout my student-missionary year, God has shown me that the beauty of the Kingdom often happens behind doors that seem closed and windows that seem shut.

Now, going home, I know that all I need is the assurance that God will guide my path as He did in the past. A year as a student missionary has taught me that the only life worth living is a life with God.

Why don’t you give yourself the privilege of enjoying this life with Him? I guarantee you won’t regret it.
