Theodor Schestag

Short-term missionary, serving on the Thai of Southern Thailand—Surat Thani Project for 2025–2026.

Jesus is not merely the source of my compassion, love and wisdom—He is the very essence and purpose of my life.

However, this wasn’t always the case. I was raised an atheist and often scoffed at those who dared to believe in God in the 21st century. Faith seemed absurd to me, little more than wishful thinking.

But everything changed when my father passed away in 2016. His loss shook me to my core and prompted existential questions I could no longer ignore. Was life truly nothing more than the sum of our biology and chemistry beneath the skin? Or was there something deeper, a spiritual truth that transcended mere physical existence?

To keep a long story short, today, I am a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I have experienced the transformative power of the gospel, and my greatest joy is sharing this good news so that others may also find their personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. This passion led me to join the Amazing Facts training program last fall.

When I discovered Adventist Frontier Missions (AFM), I was captivated by their mission and strategic approach and their modus operandi. I felt a strong conviction to support their cause. It quickly became clear to me that serving with AFM was the next step in my spiritual journey—not only to help reach the unreached but also to gain vital skills to spread the gospel in the future.

I am pleased that I will be serving in Surat Thani, Southern Thailand, bringing light to the Buddhist people during the 2025-2026 service term.

Jesus is coming soon! We have no time to waste.

May the Lord richly bless you!
