“Are we there yet?” my son’s voice rings out on our vacation trip. The question begs to answer itself because if we were there, he wouldn’t be asking. My son has not mapped out the journey, so he has no idea how close our destination is.
As parents, we have taken time and care to plan the trip, keeping in mind the cramped quarters of our vehicle for such long hours. If we stay the course, we will arrive at our destination just as planned.
Planned Giving is much like a road trip. First, you need to choose a destination. Then you need to map out your route, deciding what would be the best way to reach your goal. Finally, it is time to choose a financial vehicle suited to the journey, such as a will, a trust, or a charitable gift annuity.
There will be times of cramped, uncomfortable travel, but if you follow your roadmap, you will reach your goal of blessing others with the resources God has given you.
