Most people think that witnessing is only for grown-ups. In reality, whether 5 or 105, you can share your hope in Jesus.

No matter where you go, people like hearing something that brings hope. Missionaries share with people the hope of life with Jesus, here and in eternity. Then they pray that their witnessing will help the people understand what was shared, and be encouraged to live a Christ-like life.

My dad always wanted to do some sort of missionary work. That’s what brought him to AFM. Since we moved to Michigan four years ago, we have been involved in community witnessing projects. One time last year, we went to Lansing to pass out literature door-to-door and share the hope Jesus gives! It may have had a big impact, too. One man was very grateful after my dad prayed with him, happily talking with my dad after the prayer.
Another event happened the first summer we moved here. We went to the beach so I could swim in the lake. When I went to get my glasses (I wear contacts now) after swimming for a while, we discovered they were lost. We started searching. Then my parents told me to play on the playground while they continued looking. Nothing! And for me, everything was a blur!

Some young women from a different church came to my parents and talked for a long while. After they left, we searched again for the glasses. Still nothing! So, I went to dig a little hole in the sand, something I still love to do. A few minutes later, I heard my dad. They found the glasses, half-buried and sticking straight up. We probably checked that area at least seven times. We were in shock, yet excited. Especially me. I was glad to see clearly again.

Was it a coincidence that we found my glasses after they left? I don’t think so. I think Jesus wanted to share hope with my family, that He loves us and hears our prayers, as much as my parents wanted to share their hope in Jesus and pray with the young ladies—who had been pretty much standing above the glasses the entire time!

I find Jesus pretty amazing.
