God gives each of us a life filled with opportunities to learn lessons as He prepares us to spend eternity with Him. Student missionaries are at a unique point in their lives—a time when they are growing beyond who they were into who they will be, simultaneously bringing spiritual, emotional and physical life to others in the mission field.

Personal transformation is, perhaps, the greatest change.
Mallory observes how peace and contentment transcends a family’s surroundings because Jesus has transformed their lives. He transforms her’s, too (p. 15). Sarah discovers that teaching online challenges her shyness. But she’s taking risks, engaging students in discussions and creating connections (p. 35).

Trusting God is another key growth point.
Emory likens his experience to Trusting and Waiting 101—learning to step back and allow God to make things happen when and how He knows best (p. 37). Cedric sees God using his faithful walk to question stereotypes and break down boundaries for others (p. 46). Véronique trusts God deeper as He faithfully funds her training and launching and clears her through border control in answer to prayer (p. 45). Hannah and Katie get muddy, learning endurance and perseverance in God’s strength while pushing motorbikes, climbing hills and outrunning storms (p. 26).

Living a daily life for Jesus is paramount.
And for Noah and Jared, it becomes abundantly evident that the clearest and most convincing message they give is through the consistency of the life they live—whether through friendship evangelism (p. 36) or kindergarten students who imitate everything you say and do (p. 19).
