The Call

SSDw01-1,2 IT Support / Friendship Evangelism – Help your career missionary in their translation ministry by aiding in programming useful scripts, solving technical challenges and other IT/programming related tasks. Apart from IT, engage in friendship evangelism, visitation, informal tutoring or similar outreach-related activities. Will study Thai.

The People

The Thai people are hospitable and friendly. They love to have fun, love to visit, and highly value one’s ability to control his/her emotions and say “no problem” in the face of problems and stresses.

The Project

Southern Thailand, located on the Malay Peninsula and with an area of around 27,000 square miles, is a little larger than West Virginia. The western part has steep coasts, while river plains dominate the east side. It is a growing region with a population of more than 9 million. Less than one percent of Thailand’s population is Christian. However, most of these live north of Bangkok. There has been less outreach to the Southern Thai people. This project seeks to take the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ to the Buddhists in southern Thailand. To learn more, view the project page for Buddhists of Southern Thailand
