Jephthae Campbell grew up on a small farm in rural Kentucky, where her three siblings and she learned early to care for animals, a garden, and to preserve food. These experiences, combined with a strong work ethic and the joy of hard work, laid a solid foundation that has served her well throughout life.
When she was five, her father learned of Adventist Frontier Missions and signed up for their magazine. As she grew older, she eagerly read the mission reports and dreamed of serving. At 17, after finishing homeschool, she had the opportunity to spend a year as a student missionary in South Korea.
That year wasn’t easy, but God used it to teach her perseverance and trust in Him. By the end, she longed to continue serving, but she followed her parents’ advice to attend college first. The experience left her with a deep passion for missions. After earning her BA at Southern Adventist University, she taught in Memphis, yet in the back of her mind was always the desire to serve. She realized God was still calling her. After a powerful weekend at GYC, she signed up with AFM and began her journey in career mission service and served overseas for 15 years. Those years profoundly shaped her life. Her understanding of “normal” shifted, and her heart is now divided between countries, with friends and “family” living all around the world.
In 2022, Jephthae returned to the U.S. and began serving missionaries and our donors from the AFM home office. She continues to connect, serve, and share God’s love in this role.
