It was a lazy Sunday morning. My wife and I were seated comfortably on our living room loveseat when my phone rang. “Kyle, are you aware that the Amity youth class is in Glenwood right now selling baked goods and produce for your mission project?”

“No,” I said in surprise.

“If you have time, you may want to go and see them. They have been there since 8 a.m., and hardly anyone has stopped. It would really make their day if you showed up.” My wife and I jumped in our car and headed out to see these faithful youth.

After arriving in Glenwood, it didn’t take long before we saw an enthusiastic bunch waving signs at the passing traffic, advertising their products and their cause. My heart was touched as I saw their zeal, dedication and willingness to give up their Sunday morning to brave the intense Arkansas September heat and raise funds for our AFM project. The thought occurred to me: Am I as willing to sacrifice my time, comfort and ego to help the unreached as these dedicated youth are?

Recently, a friend asked me if it would be okay if she talked to her colleagues at work to see if they would donate to our project. Again, I was humbled by the thought that she was willing to step outside her comfort zone to help us.

Over these past couple months, I have been repeatedly touched by people’s willingness to make sacrifices to help our project. As we look at the vast multitudes of unreached people in our world, we all must ask ourselves the question: what am I willing to sacrifice to help them meet Jesus?
