But now indeed there are many members, yet one body . . . Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually” (1 Cor. 12:20, 27).
When visiting AFM projects around the world, I marvel at the beauty of Christ’s body. The Lord is amazing how He puts the right teams together at the right time. He knows the gifts and talents of each member and what is needed to help unreached people come to know Him.
“The order that was maintained in the early Christian church made it possible for them to move forward solidly as a well-disciplined army clad with the armor of God. The companies of believers, though scattered over a large territory, were all members of one body; all moved in concert and in harmony with one another” (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 95).
Unity of Christ’s body thwarts the plans of the enemy to disrupt and destroy. While changes can and do come to teams, the real joy is in seeing that the Lord is in control and orchestrating those fluctuations. Remember: one plants, one waters, and one brings in the harvest, but all are working for the goal of enlarging the kingdom of the Lord.
Each of us has been endowed with heavenly abilities that are needed within Christ’s body of believers. How beautiful it is to be diverse individually and yet united collectively in purpose. God can and does use us all!
We need more prayer warriors to pray for AFM’s needs. We need more workers to go and serve with AFM. We need more people to be financial supporters of AFM’s ministry. We need more of you to share as you are capable to help reach the unreached of the world. Unite with us today!
