Selling Everything

“Sell everything and become missionaries,” God told Teddy two years ago. Amazingly, it is finally coming to fruition!

It has been a long, uncertain and difficult road. We did not know how to become missionaries. Selling everything seemed an impossible task. But we knew that with God, all things were possible!

Somehow, through God’s guidance, we had the idea of doing an estate sale. We called an agent, and she came and took a look at our place. “Yes, I will do it,” she told us.

“So what do we need to do?” I asked.

“Just take the things you want and leave the rest. We will take care of everything else.”

When she learned that we were selling to become missionaries, instead of taking her customary 50 percent of the sales, she said that she would only take what was necessary to cover her costs. What a tremendous blessing and a massive burden lifted to be able to walk away from everything, have someone sort it all out and receive the proceeds.

Next: sell the house. We were scheduled to have photos taken on Tuesday and leave for training on Friday. We had waited to put the house on the market until after we completed all the projects to make it sale-worthy. When our realtor came to the house, she said someone was interested. The couple came and, within hours, submitted a full-price offer with contingencies that we could not refuse. We were in escrow less than 36 hours later; it never even went on the market!

God did it. He did what we thought was impossible. The cherry on top was when Teddy received a letter just before coming to training that his federal school loans had been forgiven. God’s timing is impeccable!

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting and praying for us. God has been building our trust in Him in amazing ways, and I pray our story encourages you as well. I cannot wait to see what He does next.
