The devil’s forces are very active in attempting to destroy what God is building in Albania, but we choose to focus on God’s blessing and protection. It is wonderful to behold! Your prayers are heard. Please don’t stop! The battle is not over. When AFM President Dale Bidwell and European Field Director Graham Allcock were visiting Albania at the time of our baptisms, they were excited to hear of God’s providence in opening a way for outreach. Dale encouraged us to share this story.

When we were new in Albania, we found a young man named Emil who spoke English well and agreed to be our language helper. He was an Evangelical pastor-in-training at the time and is now pastor of a very small group in our city. We found he had an interesting hobby—creating Albanian subtitles for English-language DVDs. We asked him to apply his skill to a DVD about Martin Luther since some of our friends had an interest in learning about the reformation, which was missing from their communist-era history books.

Emil married and had a baby boy and had to find a second job to support his family. He found work at the local television station. We asked if he was interested in working on another DVD, and he agreed to help us again. This DVD was about creation, leading into dialogue about the Sabbath. While he was subtitling the second DVD during his break time at the TV station, his manager, who was not a believer, became interested in the documentary. He wanted to air the program and asked our permission to have the DVD voice-dubbed and shown on their channel! The permission is not ours to give, but we ask you to join us in praying for this to happen according to God’s will. And pray for young pastor Emil who is growing more and more interested in studying the Sabbath.
