For the past two years, our Adventist Frontiers readers have known us by our pen names—the Church family. But today, we want to introduce ourselves by our real names—the Hutchisons.

AFM takes security very seriously and has a great history of protecting and caring for missionary families. Until now, AFM felt it was best to protect the identities of the missionaries on the Great River Project. However, a recent security audit has shown that this caution is no longer necessary, and we are happy to be able to share more details about ourselves and our project.

Our new Adventist Frontiers identity happens to coincide with our launch plans. As I write this article, we are waiting for our visas and hope to be on an airplane shortly after you receive this magazine. Following in Jesus’ footsteps, we will be trading our comfortable life, social status and language ability for a less comfortable one with a lot of unknowns. We are changing our identity so that the Great River people will have a chance to receive a new identity in Christ.

Our journey of mission preparation has been longer than some, but we wouldn’t trade away any of the experiences that have brought us to where we are. Our lives have been incredibly enriched as we’ve made connections with many of you in your churches and homes. Thank you for helping us get to this place in our journey. We realize that we wouldn’t be effective missionaries without you on our team. You are like Aaron and Hur to us, holding up our hands as we move forward. We are honored to be able to represent each of you to the Great River people of Cambodia.
