My name is Eric. I am 35 years old and was a successful tailor for a decade. Unfortunately, my life turned upside when my wife completed her midwifery education, and my father-in-law decided she should be married to a more educated man. I underestimated his seriousness until he attacked me with a Sakpaka voodoo spell that made my feet swell and hurt whenever I sat at my sewing machine. He made me unable to support my family so that my wife would leave me. I am sad to say that he succeeded, and my wife took our three children and left.
I was jobless, ill and disabled, and I began taking drugs and became a drunkard. I spent my nights on the streets or in bars. Those who knew me before couldn’t hold back their tears when they saw me.
But God had mercy on me. In December 2011, one of my uncles 300 miles north in Kandi took me to Pastor Badé’s prayer group. That night, I was introduced to my Savior in a way I will never forget. Pastor Badé asked me to tell God what I wanted Him to do for me. I knew so little about God. My former Christian life had been mixed with voodoo practices. During one of the four or five prayer sessions for my deliverance, I felt something moving inside my body. I fell down, and when I got up, I was a totally new person. Praise God, I am delivered from the pain in my feet and from my alcoholism!
When I returned to my home town, my relatives had heard about my deliverance, and many people came to see me and shed tears of joy. I spent only 48 hours there to gather my things, and then I moved back to Kandi to begin a new life. I am back to my sewing work in good health and new faith. I was honored to be the tailor of the clothes Pastor Badé wore during the first communion service I attended. I am so excited about my upcoming baptism. Please pray for me as I prepare to commit my life publicly to the Lord. Pray also for my children and their mother. And pray that the Lord will use me to lead someone to Him as my uncle did for me.
