Mission Work = TEAMWORK

Our strengths and weaknesses almost perfectly mesh. Nikki and I discovered this—well, it was confirmed, really—when we applied as missionaries with AFM and completed a personality test. Rather than being a hindrance, we are blessed to support each other with our strengths in areas where we are individually weak and lacking. We are a team! Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.”

When we share our testimony with a church family, we typically do the presentation together, with each sharing how God spoke to us, calling us to be missionaries. However, when one of our supporters blessed us by orchestrating ten speaking engagements on the East Coast (see the March issue of Adventist Frontiers), I could not take off the six weeks necessary because I am still working full-time. Nikki, though, was available and could tell our story for us.

Because we function so well as a team, I felt my teammate’s absence, especially when it came to taking our daughters Sophia and Anastasia to school while I traveled for my job. Thankfully, other members of our team made some clutch plays. My mom lives relatively close to us and was able to come out for a few weeks. My stepmother-in-law also came down from Washington during one particularly hectic week. Their help was invaluable, each earning an assist (yes, another sports term). Meanwhile, God helped Nikki throughout the trip, growing our support team.

As we continue to develop our Hrvati Project support team, your help remains vital. We could not do it without you. Each donation, no matter the size, gets us one step closer to giving our all in the mission field. Every prayer on our behalf strengthens and conditions us to serve God in spreading the gospel. Thank you, our faithful prayer warriors and financial partners. It is not too late to join the team.
