In One Year

What difference can a year make? Each year, approximately 128,850,000 people take their first breath of life, and 53,420,000 take their last. Just in the time it takes you finish reading this article, about 790 people will have perished.

One year ago, we were a family of two, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the tiny person who would change our lives more than we could possibly imagine. We dreamed about the joy this new life would bring into our world.

Juli joined our family one year ago and turned our lives upside down in the best possible way. We were thrown into the wild and wonderful world of raising a child. Because Viktor has to work more than 60 hours each week, we treasure the small bits of time we get to spend together. We dash to keep up with our little girl as she explores her corner of the world, relishing the wonder in her eyes as she discovers new things. We listen as she tries out new words, and we watch tenderly as she sleeps curled up on her papa’s chest. What a difference a year can make!

This year, we aim to reach 60% of our support goal by April so we can begin AFM training in May and then launch to the Balkans in the fall. However, if we don’t reach that percentage of our support goal by next month, we will have to wait until next summer to attend training, pushing our launch date back a year.

A year might not seem like such a long time, but it could mean the difference between eternal life and death for someone in the Balkans who is waiting to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

We are looking for people who are willing to be part of a miracle; people who understand the difference a year can make. If you are one of those people, please make your pledge to the Balkan Project today!
