Dreams and Visions

Oh Lord God, please reveal Yourself to our Muslim people through dreams and visions. Please encourage, strengthen and protect those who are interested in studying with us. By Your grace, make them future converts. Please choose key people among them who will boldly proclaim Your word, and raise a group of faithful intercessors around the world who will support them and stand for them!

For more than five years, this has been our prayer. Individually, as a family and as a group when relatives or friends visit us, we all pray this prayer. As a natural result of our belief that only God’s Spirit will lead our people to conversion and salvation, this prayer became a spontaneous cry of our hearts as the years passed, and our first Dendi convert was baptized in July 2011. Sometimes silent, sometimes spoken aloud, our prayers varied with the circumstances. But our goal was ever to offer ourselves to God to do His work and care for His unreached children.

Miraculously, God put in our path Muslim brothers and sisters who have had dreams and visions with clear Christian elements. In their dreams, they were either invited to pray in a church building, or they found themselves praying the Christians’ way, or they saw a man whom they recognized as Jesus. For most of them, the dreams left them with a sense of urgency to meet with Christians. Praise God, there is one place in our city where meetings between Muslims and Christians are officially accepted, and that is our Faith Dialogue Center. At its inauguration last year, more than 10 religious and community leaders were present. In the 10 months since then, we have had six formal meetings at the center with our Muslim friends.

One of the meetings early this year included a number of those who have been touched by the Holy Spirit through dreams and visions. One lady has had two special dreams. And the Lord showed me in a vision that I should recruit a certain Muslim man to assist me with the meetings at the center, and that man happened to be her husband.

We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in answering persistent prayers. He is stirring our Dendi Muslim friends despite their long history of resistance. We have heard many testimonies of dreams and visions among our people. Thank you for being faithful intercessors who will now stand in the gap and lift up our brothers and sisters as they make bold decisions about how to respond to the Spirit’s leading. We appreciate your prayers and support.
