Do You Get What You Pray For?

Most people have the same UPS driver, but not me. I pray for a different driver every time, and God honors that prayer. We believe it is because we give each of them a book called The Great Controversy.

If we learn how to pray His will, then the answers come.

Some of you may remember the story of me driving very fast in Cambodia to make the last ferry of the day; I had prayed that I would not miss it. I pulled onto the empty ferry dock only to see the transporter in the middle of the Mekong River. Just then, I saw the engines reverse and the ferry back towards me. I drove onto the landing without paying because the collector had already left. The boat driver told me that he saw my car coming and decided to come back to get me. Even ferry schedules can be changed when God is involved.

The other day Diane was home alone, and she called me to say someone had come to mark the fiber optic lines in the ground. She had briefly talked to him, but he was on the phone. I prayed that I would make it home before the man left so I could give him The Great Controversy. When I arrived, he was still in my yard, engaged in the phone call. A little waiting on my part, and praise the Lord, I shared another book.

If you ask the Lord when you start your day to put people in your path, He finds amazing ways to answer. Diane and I try to pray about everything.

God loves answering prayers, and I enjoy seeing Him answer them directly. Most of our missionaries live daily by answered prayers. How is it with you? Do you pray about the big things, little things and everything between? If not, start today. And if you are not getting what you pray for, change for what you are praying.
