Motorcycle for the Maghreb Project

Dear Brothers and Sisters from the motorcycle camp meeting fundraiser:

Five months ago, we benefited from your generous funds to help AFM missionaries purchase motorcycles. The Became Super Cub C100 we got now makes our short movements in different villages very practical.

Before having the motorbike, we would have to use our car between our village and two other villages only a few miles away where we make our complementary food supply and where we visit our colleagues for meetings. But it was not economical to drive between houses on winding roads for short cuts with a Toyota land cruiser made for long distances. But, since we purchase the motorcycle, these trips are now easy and very economical.

We are appreciative of your generous donations and we cannot thank you enough. With many thanks and prayer,

Salam and Amina Barakah.

Original Proposal

Project #3: A motorcycle for a “closed” country in Africa. $1,500
Project status: Completed

Mr. Barakah was born on the Ivory Coast, worked as a pastor for years in Benin, then applied to AFM.  By God’s grace, he and his family established a church among a Muslim/voodoo tribal group. Not surprisingly, much of their ministry served families suffering from demonic harassment. When their assignment was complete, he and his wife accepted a second assignment to a “closed” country.

I cannot share their real names or finer details of their ministry for security reasons. What I can share is that the Barakahs are working in a community that is proudly 100% Muslim and personal relationships form the nucleus of their discipleship work. The climate is hot and during the drier months, a motorcycle provides the best form of transportation. A $1,500 gift would provide one for their work. Thank you for considering their ministry!
