Filipe & Isabela Gomez

AFM – South America Career missionaries since 2023, serving the Georgian Project.

We are Filipe and Isabela Gomez from Brazil. In 2017, during the testimony of a missionary couple serving in Lebanon, we felt the calling of God to share the gospel with unreached people. We were young, around 19, not married yet, and with no job or college degree.

We were building careers to be successful on this earth, but God told us to change our courses to be more helpful in the mission field, and we decided to listen to Him. After that, God called us to do a colporteur ministry to teach us how to depend on him. Then God asked us to get married, and again, we decided to obey Him, marrying on January 20, 2019.

After we married, we started college. I (Felipe) studied physical education, and Isabela studied nutrition. At this time, we decided to plan on being missionaries for life. We applied to AFM in 2020 and launched to Thailand in April 2023. I was a guitar teacher there, and Isabela worked in Disciple Making Movements (DMM), building relationships and making disciples. We made some friends and started to play soccer with them. As we continued getting to know them, our friendships grew. Some of their parents won’t allow them to be Christians or even talk about Christianity. We had many opportunities to share our faith with them and show Jesus through our lives.

Another facet of our project was the children’s home, a house for children abandoned by their parents and who cannot be adopted. We spent every Sunday morning there, having worship, sharing bible stories, and giving them love and care.

In Thailand, God prepared us to continue in the mission field as career missionaries. We decided to obey God again and accepted the calling to be missionaries in Georgia. Thank you for your support. God bless you!

Frontier Stories

Light of the World

There are people living in Georgia with an experience similar to mine, confused and walking in darkness, living their lives depending on works to receive blessings, protection and forgiveness from God or their saints.

Not Simply A Calendar

Please pray for these people who don’t know the truth yet, and pray for us to have wisdom in sharing this truth.

Persecuted for Searching for the Truth

George’s story took place in a country where people are certain their religion is the only true one, are confident their religious leaders guide them on the right path and are convinced that the cross is a sacred object that one must venerate or else be cursed.

Hidden Truth

God has big plans for the Georgian people. As His workers and disciples, it is our responsibility to go and lead them from man’s interpretations and traditions back to God’s instructions.
