Chris grew up at a Seventh-day Adventist church camp in Tennessee. Over the years of working at camp, he has developed a wide variety of hands on skills. Meanwhile, Erin grew up in a small goal-mining town in Western Kentucky. Frequently she visited the church camp where Chris lived. Our first memories of interacting with each other are when we were about 8 years old. Over the years we went different directions and it wasn’t until 20 years after our first meeting that the Lord brought us together and we were married. Almost 6 years ago the Lord brought us back to the camp where Chris grew up and what a blessing it has been to be sharing Jesus through camp ministry.
Over the past couple years we have felt God calling us to be more purposeful in mission activities which led us to study carefully the Scriptures related to mission work. The Lord led us to Adventist Frontier Missions. When we realized that such a large segment of the world has yet to hear the gospel and of the great need for laborers to go and live among them, our hearts were drawn to “Go into all the world” to share Jesus’ love with those who could not hear otherwise (Romans 10:13-15)
We have accepted the call to the Pendjari region of Benin, West Africa. We will live in the local community, getting to know the people and developing friendships with them. We hope to show our love for them by creating job skills training opportunities and job industries. Our prayer is that we will be able to lead our new friends into relationships with Jesus and provide support and mentoring to them as they grow in Him.
