In their natural state, rocks are not especially gifted missionaries. They’re quite heavy, and it takes a lot of energy to move them where you need them, though it can be done. They aren’t very well-spoken, either. In fact, it’s hard to get them to say much of anything. But I guess that could be a good thing since they don’t possess the full truth of the gospel and the three angels’ messages.

Does it surprise you, then, that Jesus had rocks standing by to pick up the slack in case His disciples held their peace and didn’t proclaim His lordship (Luke 19:37-40)?

God has prepared and equipped Seventh-day Adventists for the unfathomably important work of completing His gospel commission and preparing earth for His triumphal return. But if we decide to stop short of the glory He has planned for us—to be more reticent than rocks—then He will use the rocks, and we will miss the eternal blessing of sharing the Good News of our Savior.
