Dream was wild and his own little boss when we first met him during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was three years old and living with his grandma at the time. After his grandmother’s passing, we brought him to the children’s home where we were volunteering. Dream is now thriving. He has become a teachable, God-loving boy. He is bold, too. One time, I asked him to pray in Thai for a lady at the store, and he gladly did so. Seeing him grow fills me with hope and reminds me why we are here. You can learn more about Dream from our video, “A Family That Heals—Dream’s Story” (https://youtu.be/Rc3UvtpMm9g).
In the last few months, we have met some sweet children who live close to our new neighborhood. They are always eager to play with our girls, and deep bonds are starting to form between the children. We want to teach them English, and our family hopes to build trust and share the Bible with them.
God has also blessed us by introducing us to a Chinese family here. They are planting churches like we are. It has been wonderful to find others with the same God-given calling and to get to know each other. They have already asked for our help, which we are more than happy to provide.
Yet now comes the time for our furlough, and my heart is caught between joy and sadness as I pack. While I am thrilled to reunite with family in the States and to share stories of our Thailand journey with you at various churches, leaving our community and pausing our connections here is difficult. We know that Dream will welcome us back with big hugs, and our missionary friends will be delighted that we have returned. We do pray that the neighborhood children will be waiting here for us when we return.
To keep nurturing children like Dream and growing these new relationships, we need your support to relaunch our work in Thailand stronger than ever. Your prayers and generosity make every moment here possible, and we are deeply grateful to call you partners in this mission. Thank you for standing with us as we follow God’s call.
