“God answered my prayers!” exclaimed our newfound brother from an African country.

We met our new friend just last week. He lives in the same complex we do. He has been working here for more than a year, but his contract forbids him from bringing his wife or any family members to this part of the world. A month ago, he applied for a position in another country, hoping to find a church there. “I prayed for just one Adventist family,” he said, “and God answered my prayer!” During our first church meeting, tears welled up in his eyes as he thanked God for his new church family. He decided not to take the position that was offered to him in another country, and informed us that he will be staying here. We are now four members in our tiny church.

As I recall the past three weeks, I realize how blessed we are to be able to go to church. Many people take the privilege of church for granted and don’t even think about it. Has going to church become a routine for you? Do you still see it as a God-given privilege? It is a privilege to know God and to be able to share that experience with fellow members. Let us not take the small blessings for granted. Thank God today for the privilege that you have to be able to go to church. I only now truly understand the words spoken by Jesus in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Praise God for His blessing of church.
