“God really loves you,” said our new friend who assisted us with our residency cards. “It was a miracle!” he exclaimed, waving his hands in the air. “The officer signed the paper and didn’t require you to have a working contract!”

We chuckled. We knew how many people were praying for us. We have to wait another two weeks until we know for sure if they approved our one-year residency. But we trust God.

God also guided our apartment search, and we are surrounded by at least 200 families. The city is large, and we enjoy the adventure of finding new places and having conversations in the local language at the markets. The people are very friendly and willing to assist. We visited a sweet shop and asked for directions to one of the malls. The young man in front called someone from the back. He called someone else, and in the end it took nine people to direct us to the mall!

We also have divine appointments at unexpected times. A lady approached us at a local market, and we soon learned that she has been working among the refugees. She offered to help us.

Our language teacher came to visit us and introduced us to her family. Her mom offered to teach us how the make a traditional local dish. In a conversation with our new-found family, they mentioned that they had neighbours from another country who worked with blind people. We realized once again that God had prepared the way for further ministry. We can only trust and follow Him and enjoy all the wonderful mission mercies as we continue on this journey.
