Growing God’s Family

I sneezed sharply. We were in the middle of packing our belongings and getting ready to leave Nepal, and digging through our storage had stirred up some dust. We would be leaving Nepal permanently in less than two weeks, and there was still so much to do. We had several pieces of furniture and some appliances for sale, and people were constantly coming and going from the house. It wasn’t easy to think about moving when we were feeling so sad about having to say goodbye to our friends in Nepal.

However, we were blessed to have Pranai and Kusum come all the way from Darjeeling on an overnight bus to visit us before we left Kathmandu. They are like our own younger brother and sister. We were deeply disappointed about having to leave Nepal. Though it wasn’t our fault, we felt we had somehow failed the people here. When Pranai and Kusum came and stayed with us for a few days, it felt like God’s way of encouraging us not to despair. Though we won’t be living and working with the Nepali people day to day, we still have a deep connection to our spiritual family in India and Nepal that will last for eternity.

God is now guiding us to Thailand to continue the work of reaching unreached people there. Just as we’ve seen our spiritual family in Darjeeling grow and mature, we believe God will work through us again in Thailand to help lead more people into His family.

Speaking of family, we are very happy to announce that our own little family is growing as well. We are expecting a baby in October, and we hope to be launched to Thailand and settled in before the baby arrives. Please continue to pray for our family and for our future spiritual family in Thailand.
