During long delays in unexpected situations, what’s a missionary to do with his time?

Well, Bible studies, of course!

Samuel, deciding not to waste a moment of God-given opportunity, has been doing just that. In the past few months, he has been brought into close proximity with several men facing some tough circumstances. Over the many hours in each other’s presence, Samuel has grown to know them quite well. He discovered that, because of the difficult life events these men are currently going through, they are interested in alternative ways of thinking, so he started giving them Bible studies.

Three of the men are engaged in Bible studies with Samuel. Another is feeling a bit more cautious, so Samuel is giving him Bible passages to read, discussing them later as they take walks together. Foremost in their study has been the veracity and validity of the Bible and the history of the Quran.

The benefits are two-sided. Samuel has absorbed more about the Muslim culture, while his new contacts have learned more about the Word of God.

Please lift these men up in your prayers. God is able to use all of us in whatever situation we are in, and Samuel has proven faithful to use his talents in sharing truths of the gospel with these men who might not otherwise learn anything about the love of Jesus.
