If you are reading this article, it is probably because you know us personally or because you like this magazine so much that you read it from cover to cover. You like to read about missionaries, but have you considered missionary training for yourself?

AFM focuses on sending missionaries to work cross-culturally among unreached people groups to plant churches in places where there are few or no Christians. An interesting thing about our world today is that unreached peoples are coming to the West. Immigrants from countries that are difficult or impossible to enter as foreign missionaries are coming to America and Europe and settling by the millions. Within a short distance of your home, there are probably people who have recently arrived from overseas who belong to people groups that still need to be reached before Jesus returns.

These immigrants are often open to new ideas about life and God. Being welcomed and assisted by loving Christians in their new land will often build lasting bonds. Maybe you could be the one to show interest in them, seek to learn some of their language and culture, and eventually introduce them to your friend Jesus.

This summer, we attended the Summer Institute of Frontier Missions at AFM’s training center in Berrien Springs. We learned many useful lessons that will assist us in working in Benin. Those lessons could help you, as well, to be a missionary in your own neighborhood! AFM’s training is open for anyone and is very reasonably priced.
