Sabienea Winston

AFM Short-term Missionary for 2026-2027, serving the Otammari Project of Benin.

My name is Sabienea Winston, and I am from a tiny island called Antigua. I spent my early adulthood working in elementary education. In 2021, I went back to school and studied chemistry at Geneva College, a small Christian college in the U.S. In the spring of my first year, I recommitted my life to God and decided to do whatever He wanted me to do.

During my last Christmas break at college, I felt God impressing me to enter the mission field. Deciding to follow that call was difficult at first. I was reluctant to leave behind the life I wanted for myself and found it hard to muster the will to serve God in the path He desired for me.

Then one day, as I listened to a sermon, I heard about AFM and soon applied. When I received the options for calls (project locations and the roles that need filling), I thought the call in Benin would suit me well, as I love working with the youth and enjoy teaching, especially about the Bible and God. I also know some basic French.

I am both nervous and excited to see how God will use me.
