One choice.
I thank God for putting the desire to serve others in my heart throughout my whole life. As I look back, I see how that desire has grown, but I had never experienced such a strong calling as I did last summer, just after graduating from high school and praying that God would reveal His plan for my life.
My family and I were about to attend the Generation of Youth for Christ (GYC) conference titled “To Every Nation.” Usually, I can’t wait for events like this.
When I was younger, I would count the days and pack my luggage a week in advance. But this time, something felt very strange—something I did not understand at that moment. On the same dates as GYC, a sports training camp was planned in my hometown, and I really wanted to stay and attend it rather than the conference.
It was a real struggle. My family did not pressure me at all. I had to make the choice myself, and I praise God for guiding me to GYC. He knew I could not miss it.
While at GYC, I heard that there are still people who do not even know that Jesus is our Savior, and my heart broke. I couldn’t resist responding to God, “I will go!”
I want to meet Jesus as soon as possible, but the work is not done yet.
Sometimes I wonder where I would be if I had not decided to attend the conference. There, the Holy Spirit spoke to me so clearly: God has given you health, and He will give you everything you need to serve. Why not you?
Through God’s leading, I will now be a student missionary with AFM, serving as a discipler and health worker at the Sagada project in the Philippines.
Will you join me in using the gifts God has given you to hasten the coming of the Lord and bring His message to the people of Sagada while it is still possible?
