The Lame Walk

This story was told to me by a church brother.
“Early one morning I got a phone call from a friend named Abib who attends an evangelical church. ‘Brother, I have a problem!’ he said. ‘I am very sick, and I can’t even get up. Please come and pray for me.’
“When I arrived at his house, his door was locked. I heard some shuffling inside, and it was a long time before he was able to open the door. I went in and found him sitting on the floor. He told me that his legs were paralyzed. I asked him if he had fallen or if he’d had an argument with someone who may have cast a spell on him. He told me that three nights earlier he had dreamed that an uncle placed his feet onto a fetish image and called down a curse on him. I told him that it is written in the Bible that the Son of God came to destroy the works of Satan. Jesus came so that the blind might see, the paralyzed walk, and the deaf hear. I told him that, since he had given himself to Jesus, there was no more condemnation on him. Then I prayed, rebuked Satan in the name of Jesus, and sent away the paralyzing spirits in Jesus’ name. I prayed that all the connections between him and this fetish god would be broken by the blood and the power of Jesus Christ. I put my hands on his feet and prayed for them. After I finished, I took his hand told him to get up in the name of Jesus. He got up and started to walk. He wasn’t very stable at first, and he hung onto me for support, but then I told him to let go and walk by himself. Soon he was even able to jump.
“Over the next few days, I spent some time talking with him, and he accepted the Adventist message and was in church this last Sabbath.”
Praise the God who still works miracles through His people!
