Marna was born on December 22, 1986, and Martin on May 18, 1979. They have a few years of age difference, but not in their eyes, as they understand each other perfectly.
They both grow up on farms. Though they love the farm lifestyle with its peace and quiet, they currently work in the city, both for the same company. Martin is the financial manager, and Marna is the bookkeeper.
They grew up knowing about Jesus. Both their families went to church on Sundays. Martin’s parents divorced when he was only five years of age, and his father often worked away from home. He and his two younger brothers lived with their uncle and grandparents.
Marna is the second oldest of five children. Her father passed away in 2012 at the age of 51, and their family started growing away from each other. They still visit each other but not as much as they would like.
In June/July 2015, Martin’s uncle and aunt invited them over for Bible Study, and one of their friends taught them about the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. At first Martin was very sceptical, but the Holy Spirit intervened. The friend invited them the following week to a Seminar presented by Professor Walter Veith. The devil caused problems to arise, trying to keep them from attending the seminar, but they pushed through. By the end of the series all of their questions were answered, and they were convinced of the truth.
The next Friday evening as the sun started to set, they realized that the Sabbath was arriving, and they had some second thoughts about leaving behind their old way of life. But God gave them comfort, and today they both consider the Sabbath a delight.
Martin and Marna became Seventh-day Adventists in August 2015, got baptized in November 2015 and received a call to become missionaries in December 2015.
In January 2016 they applied to AFM, and God opened the doors in miraculous ways and blessed them abundantly. God has asked them to go and serve the Georgians of Georgia.
