The Call

WADc02-1,2 English Teachers for French School – Teach English to French-speaking students and help develop an English curriculum in Reading, Writing, and Oral communication for the entire school, from elementary level through high school. SM/STM will live independently, teaching six hours a day and studying the Susu language. Great opportunity for education majors.

The People

Guineans are warm people, and they can be loud, aggressive, somewhat argumentative. Most are illiterate. Their religion is Islam mixed with animism.

The Project

The Susu project began in 2000 and is located in the hill town of Fria, north of Conakry. A church and highly-esteemed school are now in operation, and the Seventh-day Adventist influence continues to impress the Muslim citizens of this town. To learn more, view the project page for Susu
