Divine Appointment at the Embassy

“This has nothing to do with your application, but do you mind if I ask you about your stance on tithing?”

I was at the U.S. Embassy in London renewing my religious worker’s visa, and I was surprised when one of the staff asked me this question. But I could see that her curiosity was genuine, so we talked for a few minutes. “I have been doing some research, and I really want to do what’s right,” she said. “Thank you for sharing what you believe.” I wished her God’s blessing and success in her desire to know His will better.

As I waited to be called for the next stage of the process, I pondered what had just transpired, and I was awed by how God works. I could have been called to any one of 11 booths to have my paperwork checked before my interview. However, I was called to the one where someone was genuinely searching for truth and was willing to ask my opinion. The Lord indeed moves in mysterious ways. I praise Him for granting me the opportunity to witness to a true seeker after truth. Who knows what may become of this young lady as she continues to study her Bible? Please pray that the Holy Spirit will lead her into all truth and that her heart will remain open to obey what He reveals.
