This was a breakthrough for AFM—six missionary families launched in the same year. The projects were as diverse as the people they sought to reach, and the Holy Spirit blessed and prospered each missionary family according to its needs.

January: Hookers launch to Cambodia

Teaming up with the Griswolds, Arnold and Stacey Hooker and their children launched their ministry, learning Cambodian language and culture and smiling and loving their way into Cambodian hearts, building the foundation of a church-planting movement.

February: The Griswolds launch to Cambodia

While helping resettle refugees in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Scott and Julie Griswold felt God’s call to begin a church planting work their. AFM gladly welcomed them as fulltime missionaries as they began to raise up a church in Phnom Penh.

May 9: The Dills begin their project in Thailand
